Angelique Kerber (38) is joining Prime Video's Wimbledon expert team. The three-time Grand Slam champion will enter the coverage starting in the second week of the tournament, as the streaming service announces. "I'm happy to try something new again", Kerber is quoted as saying. "What appeals to me most about the new role is the commentary, the perspective that is now changing for me. I'm looking forward to observing the match situations a bit more closely, not as a player on the court."

The tennis star won Wimbledon herself in 2018. Kerber also celebrated Grand Slam victories in 2016 at the Australian and US Open. In 2024, Kerber ended her professional career after the Olympic Games in Paris.

Jonas Friedrich becomes host

Alongside Kerber, former tennis professionals Tommy Haas and Patrik Kühnen will also share their expertise on Prime Video for the first time. The lineup is completed by Sabine Lisicki, Michael Stich and Andrea Petković. Dustin Brown, Barbara Rittner, Daniela Hantuchová, Sascha Bajin, Barbara Schett, Nicola Geuer, Benny Ebrahimzadeh and Alexander Zverev's brother Mischa Zverev round out the team.

The hosting team is also being reshuffled. Jonas Friedrich is taking over the role from Alexander Schlüter, who has moved to ARD. Friedrich and Katharina Kleinfeldt will alternate in hosting the broadcasts.

Prime Video is showing live matches from up to eight courts simultaneously at Wimbledon. The commentators are Markus Theil, Marcel Meinert, Jan Platte, Lukas Schönmüller, Markus Zoecke, Hannes Herrmann, Dennis Heinemann, Andreas Thies, Jens Huiber, Markus Goetz and Florian Heer. On-site reporters Cayana Adjei-Freeman and Moritz Lang are covering the event. They provide interviews with the players as well as impressions from the tournament action.
