Lady Louise Windsor (22) has received the "Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award". She was presented with the award by her father, Prince Edward (62). The 22-year-old wore a light blue dress with short, wide sleeves to the ceremony. According to British media reports, she was accompanied by her boyfriend Felix da Silva-Clamp, who rarely appears in public. The two reportedly met during their studies.
Lady Louise, a niece of King Charles (77), was visibly beaming as she received the award at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh, which was established by Prince Philip (1921-2021) and honors, among other things, volunteer work by young people. Together with Lady Louise, several people from across Scotland and Northern England reportedly received the award from the youth development program.
Award Shortly After Graduation Ceremony
In attendance at the ceremony in Edinburgh, alongside Lady Louise's boyfriend and her father, was also her mother, Duchess Sophie (61), who wore a light floral dress for the special occasion. The family had just recently celebrated Louise's graduation from the University of St Andrews. She received her degree in English on Thursday - at the very same prestigious Scottish university that her cousin Prince William (44) and Princess Kate (44) attended.
During the graduation ceremony, Lady Louise appeared in the typical academic attire of the university and was officially called by her civilian name "Louise Mountbatten-Windsor" - without a royal title. A video of the ceremony, published by the magazine "Hello!" among others, shows her crossing the stage in traditional graduation attire.
The Royal Family also shared official photos on Instagram showing Lady Louise in her robe as well as together with Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie. The caption read: "Congratulations to Lady Louise on her graduation from the University of St Andrews! Lady Louise was accompanied to the celebration by her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh." As reported by "People" among others, Lady Louise is now planning to take a gap year before beginning her professional career.
