After seven months of baby break, actress Anne Menden (40) is returning to the set of "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten". In an interview with broadcaster RTL, the star now reveals how emotional her comeback as Emily Höfer was and whether she had any concerns before her first day of shooting after such a long acting break.

Right at the first reunion with her colleagues, tears immediately came to her eyes - naturally out of pure joy. According to her, she received emotional support on set from both her partner Gustav and their son - the latter immediately wrapped the entire team around his little finger.

While Menden insists that she didn't prepare for the shoot after her return any differently than usual - after all, after so many years in front of the camera, acting is "like riding a bike - you don't forget how". But shortly before, she did have "very brief concerns about whether I could handle the script, because in my current 'brain state' I privately forget an incredible number of things". However, the script came back immediately and overall it feels to her "as if I was never gone".

Back to "GZSZ" Filming Too Soon?

Menden also addresses critical voices on social networks who criticize that her "GZSZ" comeback is coming too early. She points out: "If it had been the other way around and I had stayed home and Gustav had gone to work, probably not a soul would have made a peep about it." Every family must decide for themselves how to best balance career and family.

A great help in this is her mother-in-law, who moved to Potsdam to live with them for a year to support the new parents. That is "a great solution that everyone feels comfortable with", according to Menden.
