The Belfast-born Brit is regarded as a modern master of Shakespeare, bringing dramas like “Hamlet” and “Much Ado About Nothing” to the screen. In 2022, he finally won his long-awaited first Oscar, for the screenplay of his autobiographical film “Belfast.” As a director, he now stages big Hercule Poirot mysteries in which he also plays the lead role.
