Franz Beckenbauer

Franz Beckenbauer, “Der Kaiser,” was the greatest icon of German soccer, winning the World Cup both as a player and as team boss. As an organizer, he brought the 2006 “summer fairy tale” World Cup to Germany. His death in January 2024 plunged the entire country into deep mourning.
