Zoë Kravitz (37) doesn't talk about private matters too frequently. In a new interview, she also doesn't want to address the speculation that she is supposedly engaged to singer Harry Styles (32). However, a few sentences from the actress and director's conversation with the British edition of "Vogue" are eye-opening. The daughter of Lenny Kravitz (62) and Lisa Bonet (58) talks about not wanting to work as a director and have a child at the same time.
"I'm not letting you take that away from me"
When asked how it feels to fall in love in front of the eyes of an interested public, Kravitz responds that she finds it "uncomfortable" to do anything at all in public. Even before the conversation, her team had made it clear that she doesn't want to talk about the relationship with the singer. However, she is aware that there is great interest in it.
At the same time, she says, that doesn't mean it's okay for her if, say, eight people are waiting in front of her home to ambush her. There are moments when she wants to hide from all the attention, "because it's overwhelming, and then there are moments when you, whether out of defiance, say: 'I'm going to get my coffee now, and I'm not letting you take that away from me.'" She wants to participate in life, Kravitz explains. Even if it's a different experience for her than for an unknown person. Better that than closing herself off completely.
Zoë Kravitz "just has to be realistic"
Kravitz "thinks it's very important to maintain a certain sense of normalcy". Apparently, she has also shown the aforementioned defiance in recent months. Kravitz and Styles have been seen together multiple times, including being photographed arm in arm in Rome. In December 2025, an insider told "People" that things were supposedly getting serious between the two. In April 2026, another anonymous source told the U.S. magazine that the two had supposedly gotten engaged. They had reportedly shared the happy news with "a small circle" and shown friends the engagement ring. Shortly before that, the British "The Sun" had published photos supposedly showing the two kissing.
Kravitz feels no pressure to justify herself, the article continues. She has no need to conform to expectations, not even when it comes to balancing her professional life with marriage and children. "You just have to be realistic", says Kravitz. "If I want to do something well, I have to focus on it. Knowing myself the way I do, I'm not going to have a child and direct at the same time. You simply have to decide what you want to use your energy for."
