Pietro Lombardi (34) has to say goodbye. The singer, who once won the RTL casting show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar", has announced via an Instagram story that his cousin has died at the age of only 31. For the musician, who repeatedly emphasizes how much his family means to him, the loss hits right at the heart of his inner circle.
Lombardi shares an old photo for the farewell, which supposedly shows him and his cousin as children. He writes: "No one thinks in such moments how valuable these memories will be one day", he writes about the picture.
A long battle against serious illness
As the 34-year-old describes, his cousin had "fought long and bravely against a serious illness". In his words, alongside the grief, there is also a spark of hope. The family wishes her "that her suffering has come to an end and that she is in a better place full of peace, love and light", says the singer.
How important family unity is to the singer runs through his entire message. "You will be missed endlessly", he lets the young woman know, who apparently belonged to his closest family circle. "But in our hearts you will live on forever." The relatives are grateful "for the time spent together and the memories that will last forever".
Lombardi, who openly shares his ups and downs with his followers, lets them participate in this moment as well. The musician does not provide further details about his cousin's identity or the type of illness. The focus is solely on the memory and the farewell.
