Singer Nena (66) has broken her wrist. She announced this on social media. Since she needs to undergo surgery, she cannot perform at two scheduled concerts on Friday and Sunday - and has to cancel them on short notice.

Nena must have surgery on Friday

"Dear ones, last night I slipped on a wet stone and broke my wrist in the process", Nena shared on Instagram on June 25. She has never broken a bone before, it is her "first bone fracture ever".

However, the singer gives the all-clear. She is "quite impressed by this experience, but I am doing well and above all full of gratitude that nothing more happened". Nena further reports that she will have surgery on Friday morning and is "in good hands". Unfortunately, this also means she will not be able to perform at two scheduled concerts. She thanks fans for their understanding and love and looks forward to all other upcoming performances.

Which concerts are affected?

On June 26, Nena was scheduled to perform at the Würth Open Air. As her team announces, this performance cannot be rescheduled due to the festival situation, but a replacement has already been found - Alphaville will perform instead.

On Sunday, the "99 Luftballons" singer was supposed to perform in Hanover. For this show, there is already a replacement date. Instead of June 28, 2026, the concert will take place on July 12, 2026. Tickets that have already been purchased remain valid. Should fans be unable to attend the rescheduled date, they can return the tickets at the respective advance ticket sales locations.
