Deniz Undav (29) not only became the savior of the German national team during the World Cup preliminary round match against Ivory Coast, but he is now also auctioning off his worn soccer cleats for a good cause. The proceeds from the auction, which is being conducted through the charity auction portal "United Charity", will benefit the children's aid organization Stars4Kids. This organization is committed to sports promotion and poverty alleviation worldwide. Undav's club, VfB Stuttgart, is also involved. In this case, projects of the VfB Foundation "Brustring der Herzen" could be supported, according to the auction page.
Those who bid have the chance to win a pair of Undav's soccer cleats worn in the Bundesliga. According to the description, signs of wear are visible on the cleats and both have been hand-signed. On the right cleat, a small heart and "TL" can also be found.
Soon a Ronaldo Auction Too
"We are very pleased that Deniz Undav is supporting this special campaign and doing good together with us", United Charity explains in a statement. The auction is accessible immediately and will run for about another month. The estimated value for the cleats amounts to 2,000 euros.
Other auctions related to the World Cup can currently be found on the site as well - for example, a Portugal jersey signed by soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo (41). This auction has not yet started, but according to the information, it is supposed to begin "soon". Already offered is a German national team jersey with signatures from the national players. For the latter, the proceeds will benefit the aid projects of the RTL Foundation - We Help Children.
