Prominent support in the stands and on the field: As seen in pictures from the World Cup match in New Jersey, Ed Westwick (39) and Gerard Butler (56) each used the stadium visit for a couples' outing. The former Gossip Girl star appeared together with his wife Amy Jackson, while Hollywood star Gerard Butler sat among the spectators with his long-time partner Morgan Brown and was able to witness England's 2-0 victory over Panama live.
Westwick and Jackson, who posed for photographers at the edge of the field, appeared relaxed during their appearance and enjoyed the atmosphere away from the red carpet. For the couple, it is one of the few public outings since the birth of their son together. In March 2025, the two announced on Instagram that their son Oscar Alexander Westwick had been born. For Westwick, it is his first child, while Jackson brought a son from a previous relationship into the marriage.
The British actor and the model met in 2021 at the racetrack in Silverstone. In August 2024, they tied the knot at a romantic wedding in Italy. Shortly thereafter, they made the pregnancy public.
More celebrities in the stadium
Gerard Butler and Morgan Brown also apparently used the World Cup match for a relaxed evening together and were seen in the stands of MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. The relationship between the two goes back more than ten years. Since 2014, the Scottish acting star and the real estate investor have been seen together repeatedly, though there have also been breakups and reconciliations in between.
Most recently, Butler caused speculation according to Hello! magazine when he was photographed with a ring on his left ring finger. However, there has been no official confirmation of a wedding. The couple largely keeps their private life out of the public eye. This makes a joint appearance at a major event like the World Cup all the more noticeable.
Other British celebrities who didn't want to miss the match include David Beckham and Cara Delevingne. U.S. actor Jason Sudeikis adapted and showed his enthusiasm for the Three Lions with an England hat.
