Ralf Schumacher has every reason to celebrate: The former Formula 1 driver has turned 51 years old. Touching congratulations came from his son David Schumacher (24), who addressed his father on Instagram with an old photo and loving words.
"I love you"
"Dear Dad, I wish you from the bottom of my heart all the very best for your 51st birthday!", wrote the up-and-coming racing driver alongside a photo showing him as a little boy at his father's side. With a wink, he recalled earlier times: "Back then you definitely had a few less gray hairs."
However, it didn't stop at the little jab. David Schumacher found especially warm-hearted words and wished his father "lots of health, love, happiness and many beautiful moments together with your new husband". And continued: "Enjoy the time together and let yourself be properly celebrated today! Have a wonderful birthday! Thank you for everything. I love you!" Ralf Schumacher thanked his son by sharing the post in an Instagram story.
Greeting to the newlywed husband
The new husband that David Schumacher mentions in his post is Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne (36), who now calls himself Étienne Schumacher on Instagram. Ralf Schumacher had married the French businessman just a few weeks earlier: On May 30, the two tied the knot in Saint-Tropez in southern France, accompanied by cameras from broadcaster Sky for the documentary series "Ralf & Étienne: Wir sagen Ja". David Schumacher was best man at his father's wedding.
Ralf Schumacher had made his relationship public in July 2024 - at the time connected with his coming out. The former racing driver and Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne met in Monaco; the two have been a couple since 2022.
