A young woman regains consciousness in a daze. In her hand, she holds a knife, and beside her lies her deceased partner. When Inspector Leonie Winkler (Cornelia Gröschel) arrives at the crime scene, she recognizes the suspect as her former school friend Sarah Monet (Deniz Orta). Her colleague Karin Gorniak (Karin Hanczewski) and the forensics team are already working on site. The evidence points to a crime within the personal sphere. The question arises whether Sarah killed her boyfriend while intoxicated or in self-defense. Leonie wants to help her, but is removed from the case by her superior Schnabel (Martin Brambach) due to potential bias. Nevertheless, she continues investigating on her own.
