British host Jeremy Clarkson (66) is fighting a serious illness. The former "Top Gear" star revealed in his show "Clarkson's Farm" that he has been diagnosed with cancer.
In the new episodes, which have just been released on Prime Video, Jeremy Clarkson unexpectedly stated in conversation with his co-stars Charlie Ireland and Kaleb Cooper: "I have cancer." He also revealed that the disease is "aggressive", but added that the cancer was detected at a "very early stage".
Part of the treatment went wrong
The 66-year-old said about his upcoming surgery: It would be "over in a flash, but the body is out of action for a while". The show then displays him in a hospital bed. He revealed in it that "part of the treatment kind of went wrong": "What I wanted to say was: If all this works out, we'll see each other again in season six, and if not, then not", said the host. "Take care, all of you." According to the "Daily Mail", Jeremy Clarkson has been back in front of the camera since the end of filming for season five.
Before announcing the news about his illness, Clarkson already hinted on Instagram that the final episodes of the current season of "Clarkson's Farm" would not be easy. "Normally we try to make the series idyllic, charming and cheerful", but the last two episodes were none of that. "It's hard to watch them."
Fans meanwhile flooded the comments section with messages of support. One person wrote: "Please never stop showing us the farm. We love it". Another fan added: "But we love you for showing us the good, the bad and the ugly sides of everything."
