Being a public figure means sometimes being viewed with particularly critical eyes-something Amira Aly (33) has likely gotten used to after years in the spotlight. But on a topic that's highly current for her, the ex-wife of Oliver Pocher (48) is now making it unmistakably clear that self-appointed online experts can save their comments: "My body. My pregnancy. My informed decision", she writes, among other things, in a video compilation on Instagram showing her doing strength training.

What prompted the host to make this post: After she had previously shared glimpses into her workout routines during pregnancy, critical voices multiplied in the corresponding comment section. Aly was overdoing it with the weights and even risking the health of her unborn child, some comments read. The 33-year-old now also placed some messages from the agitated users over her new workout video as examples.

Aly has advice for her critics

Many of the critics display a revealing double standard, her post continues: "Just imagine if I criticized a woman for not exercising during pregnancy. The outcry would be huge." She states on the record that "international guidelines explicitly recommend exercise, including strength training, for an uncomplicated pregnancy".

The child is her first with her new partner, TV host Christian Düren (36). She already has two sons with her ex-husband Oliver Pocher. As a soon-to-be mother of three, she therefore has some well-intentioned advice for all those who think they know better: "Maybe we should stop constantly explaining to women how they're supposed to be pregnant."
