Tom Holland (30) and Zendaya (29) are married. The British actor confirmed this in an interview that magazine "Esquire U.K." published on Tuesday (June 16), for which Holland posed for the cover. With this, the "Spider-Man" star ends months of speculation about an already celebrated wedding of the couple.
When asked whether he had to inform family members about AI-generated images that allegedly showed him and Zendaya at their wedding ceremony, Holland replied: "No, because they were all there." He didn't want to say more about it: "You won't find out more about it." With this, the actor officially confirmed for the first time what Zendaya's stylist Law Roach had already claimed in March - that the couple had long since gotten married.
"I found my person"
In conversation with "Esquire U.K.", Holland also spoke about the stability of his relationship. "Our business can bring very stressful situations, and it's really nice to have the foundation of a relationship that stands the test of time", he told the magazine. "We can support each other in a way that only we can, because only we truly understand what it's like to lead this life." That is a great privilege, he said, because he can't imagine having something like that with anyone else.
Elsewhere, the actor got even more personal: "For me, it's: I found my person. She's my best friend, and I'm happier than I've ever been when I'm with her." He also has "never felt so supported and secure, never". He only knows this sense of security from his childhood.
The two met in 2017 during filming of the superhero movie "Spider-Man: Homecoming". Holland and Zendaya made their relationship public in 2021. On Monday (June 15), the two appeared together on a red carpet for the first time in four years in Madrid.
Two blockbusters with Zendaya
Holland is currently on a major promotional tour: He's promoting two big summer movies - "The Odyssey" opens in theaters on July 17, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" follows on July 31. Zendaya also appears in both productions. In "The Odyssey", she plays the Greek goddess Athena, in "Brand New Day" she once again slips into the role of Michelle "M.J." Jones.
On Amy Poehler's podcast "Good Hang", Holland had already raved about working with his partner on June 2. "What I love about watching her work as an actress is that she's just fearless", he said. She's fully committed, according to the motto: "I'm giving it my all."
Her versatility also impresses him: In "The Drama" as Emma, she delivers a completely different performance than as Rue in "Euphoria", "but with no less determination, passion or drive". His conclusion was clear: "I think she's the best actress out there, I really believe she has something special."
