Tennis pro Casper Ruud (27) and his longtime partner Maria Galligani are married. The couple tied the knot on the Spanish Mediterranean island of Mallorca - almost eight years after they got together. This is reported by "Vogue" magazine.

A very special guest was present: their daughter, who was born at the end of January. Ruud and Galligani had specifically planned for the child to be by their side during the ceremony. "Even before we got engaged, we had started dreaming about a family. That's why we tried to time everything so that the child we had dreamed of could be present at the ceremony", the couple explained to "Vogue". Born on January 30, 2026, their daughter was "the youngest and at the same time most important guest" at the celebration.

Tears as the Bride Entered

For Ruud, the moment when his partner walked toward him at her father's side became an emotional test. "I was pretty nervous before I went out. When I saw Maria coming toward me, it was hard for me to hold back the tears", the Norwegian told "Vogue". "I felt moved, grateful, happy - all at once." After exchanging their wedding vows, the newlywed couple left the ceremony venue to the sounds of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

Multi-Day Celebration with a Tennis Touch

According to "Vogue", the wedding festivities spanned from June 11 to 14 at the Grand Hotel Son Net and included a welcome party, a sports day, and a garden party inspired by tennis. "We wanted a wedding full of life and love, where our guests could get a glimpse of the love we feel for each other - and share it with us", Galligani told the magazine. For the ceremony, the bride wore a custom-made dress by Norwegian designer Ove Harder Finseth, while Ruud appeared in a tailored tuxedo by Oslo tailor Skabo.

Long Relationship Away from the Spotlight

Ruud and Galligani have been a couple since 2018. In November 2024, the tennis star announced his engagement on Instagram, followed by news of the first pregnancy in September 2025. Galligani deliberately stays out of the public eye. "When it comes to social media, she simply doesn't want that. She wants to lead her own life and especially control her private life herself", Ruud had said according to "People" in 2024 in a conversation with "We Are Tennis" about his partner's reserve.

Mallorca holds special meaning for the couple: it was on the island that Ruud and Galligani once made their relationship official. "We have returned many times since then, both for business and on vacation", Galligani told "Vogue". Their joint assessment of the wedding was accordingly euphoric: it felt "truly like the best weekend of our lives".
