While experienced reality stars like Jenny Elvers, Thorsten Legat, or Elsa Latifaj know exactly what they're getting into, some competitors in the new season of Temptation Island VIP (starting August 3, 8:15 PM on Sat.1 and on Joyn) are entering uncharted territory.
Annika Kärsten-Hoenig: Fresh Start After Difficult Months
Annika Kärsten-Hoenig (41) became known in recent years primarily as the wife of actor Heinz Hoenig. During his serious illness, the trained nurse kept her family afloat and found herself in the public spotlight. Now she wants to look forward again. With her participation in Temptation Island VIP, she's launching for the first time as an independent TV personality. Beyond her role as a wife, Annika brings plenty of stage experience: According to Joyn.de, she founded her own theater association, works as a director, author, and actress, and has also published a biography.
Frenzy: From Party Scene to Reality World
Frenzy (33) is one of Germany's most successful party song performers. She celebrated her breakthrough with "Jung, blöd, besoffen" (Young, Stupid, Intoxicated). Before making a career as a singer, she worked as a choreographer and won several German hip-hop championship titles. She's often accompanied to her party performances by husband Alex Strnad. Despite her extensive stage experience, she has never participated in a reality show. Temptation Island VIP will now reveal a more personal side of the musician.
Paddy Kroetz: A TV Host's Fresh Start
Many viewers still know Paddy Kroetz (47) from his time as host of Toggo TV and the Ready, Paddy, Show!. After the end of his television career, he largely withdrew from traditional TV and instead built a community on YouTube and Twitch. There he also speaks openly about his financial difficulties and his simple lifestyle. With Temptation Island VIP, the 47-year-old is now daring his comeback on television - and at the same time his first foray into reality TV. He himself sees the show as a chance for a fresh start and emphasizes that he can manage well with little luxury.
Roland Ludomirska: "Cheese Millionaire" in German Reality TV for the First Time
At least in Germany, he too is a newcomer to reality TV: Roland Ludomirska made a name for himself in Austria as the founder of the brand Crazy Cheese. After selling cheese at markets and fairs for many years, he developed unusual varieties and opened his first store in 2020; within three years, the business grew to five branches and earned the extravagant entrepreneur the reputation as "Cheese Millionaire." Recently, bankruptcy proceedings were initiated for two companies of his Crazy Cheese corporate group. Ludomirska already gained television experience in 2023 on the Austrian PULS-4 game show "Wahrheit oder Pflicht" (Truth or Dare). A year later, he moved into the ATV format "Forsthaus Rampensau" (Forest House Diva) together with his butler Dominic and caused a stir there, among other things, with his arrival by helicopter. With Temptation Island VIP, the cheese king is now taking his first step into German reality TV.
