If you didn't make it onto the guest list, you just have to make do with what's left on the street. Following this motto, New York artist Justin Gignac is currently selling trash he collected around Madison Square Garden. That's where Taylor Swift (36) and Travis Kelce (36) celebrated their wedding on July 3rd. For 25 US dollars per piece, the waste ends up in small plastic cubes for eager fans, as shown in the online listing.
The haul is impressive: cigarette butts, straws, bottle caps, discarded plastic utensils, and a lost earbud have found their way into the transparent containers, among other things. According to Gignac, one cube even contains an ovulation test. The collection has since sold out anyway.
Out in a tuxedo with a trash grabber
Gignac went all out for his collection campaign. Dressed in a tuxedo and armed with a grabber tool, he made his way through Midtown Manhattan after the ceremony to bag everything the revelers or other New Yorkers had left behind. He then packaged the finds and put them up for sale online. Gignac has sold more than 1,300 of the small cubes to 30 countries, according to his own statements, reports the New York Post.
The most beautiful day of their lives
In the online listing, the artist writes about the collected trash that it was gathered as close to Taylor and Travis's big day as you could get without an invitation. Buyers can now carry a piece of the most beautiful day of your... I mean, their lives with them at all times.
The wedding of Swift and Kelce at Madison Square Garden in New York counted over 1,000 guests. According to media reports, prominent visitors also included Brad Pitt, Ed Sheeran, Reese Witherspoon, and Steven Spielberg. Actor Adam Sandler is said to have officiated the ceremony.
