The 2026 Soccer World Cup has gotten off to a successful start for the German national team. Many celebrities also watched the 7-1 victory against Curaçao on their screens.
Heidi Klum (53) cheered on the team in front of the TV: "Let's goooooooo." After the match, the model then sent via Instagram story a "Congratulations". Tennis pro Alexander Zverev (29), who himself just celebrated a triumph with his first Grand Slam victory at the French Open, cheered: "What a start."
Davina Geiss (23) recalled the 2014 World Cup, when Germany beat Brazil 7-1. "Déjà vu", she wrote with a heart emoji, German flag, and white heart. Majorca expat Danni Büchner (48) kept her fingers crossed in Felanitx and had equipped herself with a German hat and matching armband. Host Jana Ina Zarrella (49) was also sitting in front of the TV on Sunday evening while her husband Giovanni had a performance at Abenberg Castle. "Let's go, Mimi is ready", she wrote next to a photo showing her dog in a German jersey. She had bought it in Vancouver.
Annemarie Eilfeld had predicted the result
Singer Annemarie Eilfeld (36) was pleased that her prediction was correct. She had predicted the result at a performance on June 12 at Megapark in Majorca. "I have a feeling about this", she said at the time. "Follow me for more tips. Or come to my concerts", she now joked and then called herself a "World Cup oracle".
Wayne Carpendale (49) followed the German national team's progress in a special location: on a boat trip with friends off Ibiza. Host Janin Ullmann (44) used filming breaks between the campfire during the "Temptation Island" shoot in Crete to follow the events at Houston Stadium with the production team. "Hydration break well used for our production meeting", she shared. Oliver Pocher (48) had equipped himself and his boys with jerseys labeled "Pocher". Ex-wife Amira Aly (33) later shared that the outfit apparently went over well - because the soccer socks weren't allowed to be taken off for the night. "I tried everything, but they had to stay on..."
Tom Beck missed the match
Former "Bachelor" Dominik Stuckmann (34) and his fiancée Anna Rossow combined soccer with a private occasion: They had flown to Majorca for their wedding preparations. He reported from a restaurant: "Eating tapas. Watching soccer. Choosing wedding invitations. Could be worse." Tom Beck (48) can attest to that: The actor was traveling on a train and couldn't watch the match - "thanks to catastrophic network and DB WiFi". Maybe he'll have better luck with the next German matches: On Saturday, June 20, it's against Ivory Coast starting at 10 p.m., and on Thursday, June 25, against Ecuador starting at 10 p.m.
