For her induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame on Thursday at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, Taylor Swift (36) appeared in a black evening gown by Givenchy. The floor-length piece was embroidered from top to bottom with colorful blooms. A corset bodice, a dramatically draped skirt, and a thigh-high leg slit completed the look, which according to "Page Six" was custom-made for this evening.
With the dress, Swift wore her signature red lips and her hair in a loose updo. She skipped a necklace, opting instead for citrine earrings by Mindi Mond and a diamond bracelet by Jessica McCormack. She had also adapted her fingernails for the occasion: the blue manicure from the "Toy Story 5" premiere gave way to a dark wine red. The look was finished off with black satin heels, also Givenchy, as well as the sparkling engagement ring that designer Kindred Lubeck created for her fiancé Travis Kelce (36).
Kelce Skipped the Chiefs Camp for Swift
Speaking of Kelce: The Kansas City Chiefs tight end wasn't sitting on the couch that evening, but in the front row. According to the US magazine "People", the 36-year-old left his team's mandatory minicamp earlier than planned to arrive in New York on time. He had been unable to attend on Wednesday - the schedule conflicted with game four of the NBA Finals, which Swift watched with friends at Madison Square Garden. But on Thursday, he was there in person: Kelce and Swift sat next to their mothers Andrea Swift and Donna Kelce at the ceremony.
Youngest Woman - and a Return with Symbolic Significance
With her induction, Swift is making music history: At 36 years old, she is the youngest woman ever to receive this honor. The absolute age record is still held by Stevie Wonder, who was inducted in 1983 at 32 years old. The class of 2026 also includes Alanis Morissette, Kenny Loggins, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of Kiss, as well as Terry Britten, Graham Lyle, and Walter Afanasieff.
For Swift, the evening has a special personal significance. For her nomination, she submitted songs like "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)", "Blank Space", "Anti-Hero", "Love Story", and "The Last Great American Dynasty", according to "People". And she had already been a guest at the gala in 2010 - back then with the Hal David Starlight Award in hand. She is thus, according to "Page Six", the first person ever to rise from this emerging talent award to full membership in the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
