Elyas M'Barek (44) celebrated the premiere of "Virginia Woolf's Night & Day" at the Munich Film Festival. But it was his outfit that particularly caught attention at the appearance. The actor showed up almost entirely in black. Only a brown belt brought some color into play. The real eye-catcher, however, was his headwear: M'Barek wore a tight-fitting, crocheted cap that reached just above his ears.
Whether they coordinated or not: Co-star Haley Bennett (38) also chose a black look. The US actress posed next to him in a black dress with silver fabric at the hips and a leg slit.
Elyas M'Barek is living in his old home again
For M'Barek, it's his first Munich Film Festival since his return to the Bavarian state capital. The actor lived in New York for three years before returning to his birth city of Munich in June with his wife Jessica.
"All things are packed and on their way to Germany", he announced on Instagram on June 20. "I'm sitting on the plane and am grateful for the last years in NYC." He was able to spend some lovely final moments in the city. "It was a very special time, but now it's time to go home again. Minga, I'm really looking forward to you!", wrote the "Fack ju Göhte" star.
His move had practical reasons. "I often have to be in Germany to attend meetings with productions and shoots, the traveling becomes too exhausting and complicated in the long run", he explained to the news agency spot on news.
Among other reasons, he had moved to New York for his American wife. Now she is returning the favor. "My wife Jessica also wants to work here in the future and we're looking forward to our move and more flexibility. Also to our mutual friends and my family", M'Barek shared. Nevertheless, New York remains the couple's "second home".
