Bode Miller (48) doesn't have to fear any further legal trouble after his arrest. A prosecutor from Idaho has dropped two charges for minor substance offenses against the former ski star. This is reported by "People" magazine, citing court documents.
Miller was arrested on June 6 and subsequently released on bail of $5,000 in cash, according to U.S. media reports. He was pulled over because he had accelerated while passing another vehicle on a highway in Idaho, Miller himself later explained on social media about the incident. The 48-year-old simultaneously denied reports that he had illegal substances in his possession. "My friend, who was traveling with me, had a small amount of cannabis and a cannabis pipe with him, which I didn't know about", Miller said at the time.
"I am grateful to the state"
Now Bode Miller also commented on Instagram about the developments that are pleasing for him. "I am pleased to announce that the State of Idaho has dropped all charges against me, as I did not have any illegal substances in my possession", he wrote. "I am grateful to the state for reviewing the facts and deciding on this dismissal of the case."
Bode Miller, with six Olympic medals and numerous World Cup victories, is one of the most successful skiers in history. At the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, he won gold in the super combined. In 2014, he competed one last time at the Olympic Games in Sochi, winning bronze in the super-G. In October 2017, Bode Miller ended his athletic career. The all-rounder, who was known for his risky racing style, had previously also won four world championship titles in four different disciplines.
