Canadian Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds (49) has hinted at another "Deadpool" movie. At Fanatics Fest in New York, the actor spoke about the future of the beloved antihero. "There are some real comic book gems that I think are missing from the movies so far. There are also some great stories from the comics that haven't been picked up yet", he said in a clip posted on X.

Reynolds also raved about Deadpool co-creator Fabian Nicieza (64) and comic writer Gerry Duggan. "There's more to come", Reynolds announced. "At some point, there will be another 'Deadpool' movie. It's going to be great."

Will it be another solo film?

However, the actor didn't reveal any further details. So it remains unclear whether it will be a classic solo adventure or whether Deadpool will return once again as part of a larger Marvel ensemble.

That Reynolds might have the latter in mind was suggested by an appearance on the television show "Sunday Today" . "I've written a lot already, but I don't think I'll ever put him front and center again", he explained in April. "He's a supporting character. He's someone who's great in a group."

"Deadpool & Wolverine" became a major success

Nevertheless, expectations for another film are likely to be high. Reynolds was last seen as Deadpool in 2024 in "Deadpool & Wolverine". The Marvel hit with Australian Hollywood star Hugh Jackman (57) as Wolverine grossed more than $1.33 billion worldwide.

Ryan Reynolds made his debut as Deadpool in 2009 in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". The first standalone "Deadpool" movie followed in 2016, and two years later "Deadpool 2", the sequel, hit theaters.
