Actor Stanley Tucci (65) mingled with the illustrious company of the British royal family at this year's Royal Ascot. On the third race day of the traditional horse race, the "The Devil Wears Prada" star participated in the traditional carriage procession - in the fourth carriage, as reported by "Town & Country" magazine. At his side sat his wife Felicity Blunt (45), while Lord and Lady Cavendish took seats opposite.
In a Top Hat Through the Crowd
Visually, Tucci seamlessly adapted to the strictly regulated dress code: He appeared classically formal with a top hat. He paired it with few accessories - brown beaded bracelets and sunglasses. His wife, meanwhile, opted for a dress with a floral pattern and a striking black hat. In addition to the procession, Tucci also reportedly received access to the Royal Box, where he watched the racing.
How Did Tucci Get the Invitation?
Non-royals participating in the procession is not uncommon at Royal Ascot. The monarch regularly invites prominent guests from the arts, business, and public life or members of the extended family to ride in the horse-drawn carriages. For example, Ben Elliot, a nephew of Queen Camilla, took a seat in the second carriage on the first race day.
According to "Hello! magazine", however, the royal connections of Tucci's wife were likely the deciding factor. Felicity Blunt was the literary agent of the now-deceased author Jilly Cooper. Queen Camilla was considered a close friend of the writer.
Good Relationship with the King
Tucci has long maintained a good relationship with the British royal household, particularly with King Charles. In 2025, the actor put together a menu at a dinner at the Highgrove estate that focused on sustainable foods - a topic that has long been close to the King's heart.
"We developed the menu together with Francesco Mazzei, the chef who also catered my wedding 13 years ago", Tucci explained to "Town & Country" magazine. Later that same year, he attended the annual King's Foundation awards ceremony together with actresses Kate Winslet and Meryl Streep.
