Robert Andrich (31) didn't make it into the German national team's World Cup squad; in North America, the soccer player is only working as an expert for MagentaTV. Nevertheless, he has reason to celebrate: His wife Alicia Andrich (33) is expecting the couple's third child. The couple had already announced the pregnancy in May. Now the two have also revealed the baby's gender.
It's a boy
On Instagram, Robert and Alicia Andrich posted a video of their gender reveal. "It's a ...", reads the caption next to the clip. The video shows the couple at a swimming pool, with the lettering "Oh Baby" set up behind them. Shortly after, blue color shoots into the sky and delivers the answer: The Andrichs are expecting a boy.
Robert Andrich has been married to Alicia since 2019. Their daughter Malia was born in 2021. In 2024, their son Matteo followed, whom the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder is holding in his arms in the video.
How Robert and Alicia Andrich met in an unusual way
The Potsdam native and the influencer met in 2017 - under rather unusual circumstances, as both later revealed. At a club in Wiesbaden, the soccer player got into a confrontation with his future wife's best friend. Afterward, Robert Andrich tracked down the then store manager via social media and eventually contacted her through Instagram.
At the start of the World Cup, Andrich was working as co-commentator alongside Wolff-Christoph Fuß for five matches. Since then, he has traveled to join his family on vacation, but continues to be available to MagentaTV for live segments from there.
