Lena Gercke (38) shared photos from an ambulance and the hospital on Instagram Thursday evening. Now she's posting back with a new picture and a brief message.
In her Instagram story, a red cast can be seen resting on a pillow. "Mom" and "Lia" - the name of one of her two daughters - can be read on it. Gercke doesn't reveal whether she had her other daughter sign the bandage. "So the initial shock has been overcome. We're back home," she lets her followers know. "Now it's time to be patient," she writes.
Gercke had only expressed herself vaguely before. She didn't comment on a shot from the ambulance. About a photo of a hospital hallway, she wrote only in the night from Thursday to Friday: "What a week... Things will be getting a bit quieter here over the next few days."
Bad news piles up
Just a few days ago, Gercke shared bad news with her fans. The heavy rain last weekend led to a flooded basement in her new Berlin house. In her Instagram story, the former Germany's next Topmodel winner showed a puddle of water and commented: "And I actually love summer rain... just not in the house." She also explained that she had repeatedly struggled with water damage during moves. It was a real "curse."
There had already been water damage in the new house at the end of 2025. At that time, a pipe was damaged during renovation work on the underfloor heating, causing the bathroom to flood. Particularly annoying: The room wasn't supposed to be renovated.
