Princess Kate (44) took her seat at the edge of the polo field again on Friday. At the DMMI Royal Charity Polo Cup 2026 at Guards Polo Club in Windsor, she cheered on her husband Prince William (44). For Kate, it was her first return to the charity tournament since 2023.

The Princess had skipped the event for the past two years. While William participated as usual in 2024 and 2025, his wife stayed away from the tournaments while she was undergoing cancer treatment and subsequently recovering. For William, this year's appearance was already his 15th at the traditional equestrian event. Fashion-wise, Kate opted for summery classics: She appeared in a sleeveless maxi dress with black-and-white gingham check and wore sunglasses with it. At her side was not her husband, but his Equerry Mike Reynolds.

Peter Phillips was also there

Kate wasn't the only family member cheering on William. His cousin Peter Phillips also stopped by, accompanied by his newly wedded wife Harriet and her daughter Georgina from her first marriage. Just last month, William and Kate had been among the guests at Peter and Harriet's wedding.

The annual tournament raises donations for organizations and causes that the couple supports. This year's Cup is expected to bring the total amount raised at the event so far to over 20 million dollars. Beneficiaries will include Wales Air Ambulance, the Royal College of Paramedics, the crisis service Shout, the children's hospice Tŷ Hafan, Evelina London Children's Hospital, and the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.

Harry simultaneously in Birmingham

While William was out on the polo field, his brother Prince Harry (41) was about 160 kilometers away in Birmingham. There, the Duke of Sussex attended appointments related to the Invictus Games, including the one-year countdown to the 2027 edition. According to People, a meeting between the two brothers is not expected. The relationship between King Charles's sons has been considered fractured since Harry's withdrawal from royal duties and his move to the USA.

For Kate, the sporting weekend is likely not over yet: As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Kate traditionally presents the trophies at the Ladies' and Gentlemen's Finals at Wimbledon.
