Sweden is celebrating the golden wedding anniversary of King Carl XVI Gustaf (80) and Queen Silvia (82) this Saturday. To avoid overshadowing the Midsummer holiday next weekend, the celebrations for the 50th wedding anniversary were simply moved up by one week. This means the celebration falls on another special anniversary: Prince Carl Philip (47) and Princess Sofia (71) tied the knot on June 13, 2015. Today marks the eleventh anniversary of that day.

Special Day for Princess Ines and Her Parents

But it's not just their eleventh wedding anniversary that makes this date special: The christening of their daughter Ines (1) also fell on this day exactly one year ago. At the ceremonial Te Deum thanksgiving service in the palace church, the family appeared in their usual stylish best form. Carl Philip and Sofia came together with their four children: Prince Alexander (10), Prince Gabriel (8), Prince Julian (5), and little Princess Ines.

The youngest royal attracted particular attention: Carl Philip lovingly carried his daughter in his arms. Ines wore a light blue, floral dress, while Sofia appeared in an elegant all-pink look. During the service itself, the one-year-old sat on her mother's lap - and became the secret star among the audience with her charming glances.

Tight Schedule for the Royals

After the service, a tightly scheduled day of festivities follows for the Swedish royal family: A boat tour and carriage ride through Stockholm are on the program, as well as a concert in Kungsträdgården and an official reception at the opera house. The day concludes with a private dinner at the palace - hosted by Carl Gustaf and Silvia for family and close friends.

Whether Princess Ines will attend all program items like her three older brothers are expected to remains to be seen.
