Novak Djokovic (39) celebrated away from the tennis court. For the premiere of his new documentary The Wolf in Winter, the Serbian gathered an illustrious group of guests around him in New York, led by fashion icon Anna Wintour (76). The film about the life of the exceptional athlete launches on August 20 on Prime Video.

Soccer Legends and a Boxing Star on the Carpet

The premiere photos show how international Djokovic's circle of friends is. From the soccer world came Brazilian World Cup winners Cafu and Roberto Carlos, Italian Marco Materazzi, and Spaniard Fernando Llorente. Zlatan Ibrahimovic also made an appearance alongside his partner Helena Seger.

Adding to the star power was boxing legend Mike Tyson, who arrived with wife Lakiha Spicer and daughter Mikey Lorna Tyson. Other guests included FIFA President Gianni Infantino, former NFL pro Ryan Clark, and of course Anna Wintour, who shaped the US Vogue for decades.

A Portrait Between Struggle and Controversy

In terms of content, the documentary focuses on the person behind the champion, according to Amazon. It tells the story of Djokovic's childhood in war-torn Serbia, where his family sacrificed everything for his tennis career despite financial hardship. When he later pushed to the top of the world rankings, he initially faced rejection: many fans saw him as a troublemaker who disrupted the beloved rivalry between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

The film follows Djokovic at major tournaments and in private moments at home, providing insights into his demanding training regimen. In addition to him, his wife Jelena speaks, as well as sports greats like Rafael Nadal, Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Boris Becker, and Jim Courier.

That Djokovic ranks among the greatest in his field is proven by his records. 24 Grand Slam titles represent the men's record, plus more than 1,100 singles victories and Olympic gold. Djokovic also holds the record for Grand Slam singles appearances in the Open Era. The Wolf in Winter was directed by Jason Hehir and is presented by Prime Video Sports. Starting August 20, fans can follow the behind-the-scenes look worldwide on the streaming service.
