A long-term couple has now become a married couple: Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards (32) and professional footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (32) have tied the knot. The wedding took place on Saturday (June 13) in Portugal. With this, the two are crowning a relationship whose beginnings date back almost a decade.

Wedding ceremony in small church near Faro

According to the British "Daily Mail", which also published photos of the celebrations, the wedding took place in the Igreja Matriz de Estoi church in the town of Estoi near the southern Portuguese city of Faro. The bride appeared in a lace dress, while the groom chose a classic black tuxedo. According to the report, around 70 guests from family and friends gathered for the approximately half-hour ceremony. In front of the church, the celebration continued for another hour before the party moved to a restaurant and a South American-style wedding venue in Vale de Lobo.

Notable was the absence of Jade Thirlwall, with whom Edwards once sang in Little Mix. She had a performance at the Primavera Sound Festival in Porto, Portugal that day and therefore could not attend. Whether the third former bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock was among the guests is not yet known.

Parents of two children

In 2016, the first speculation about a romantic relationship between the couple emerged. In 2022, around four years before the wedding, Oxlade-Chamberlain proposed to his partner in a scenic setting right by the ocean. They have two children together: their four-year-old son Axel and their daughter Alanis, who was born earlier this year, as Edwards had announced with a post.

Previously, the couple had sad experiences: Last year, the singer spoke openly on the podcast "We Need To Talk" by Paul C. Brunson about two miscarriages she suffered. One of them occurred in the 24th week of pregnancy - according to Perrie Edwards herself, "the worst day of my life". She had also experienced a miscarriage before the birth of son Axel.
