Unusual business partnership: Leonardo DiCaprio (48) and James Blunt (49) invest in a vegan sneaker brand. The Hollywood star and the British singer are said to have been persuaded according to the newspaper 'The Sun' by a mutual friend: Princess Eugenie (33). The daughter of Prince Andrew (63) and Sarah Ferguson (63) is also said to invest in the shoe brand Løci.
"Princess Eugenie, James Blunt and Leonardo are just three of the public figures who are using their voices to support green causes," an anonymous source told The Sun. "They all decided to support Løci to varying degrees after learning more about their work to create a clean environment for sea turtles," the insider continued.
Luxury sneakers from plastic waste
Løci was founded in London in 2021. The label produces high-quality sneakers from recycled, renewable and biodegradable materials, for example plastic fished from the sea. Ten percent of the company's proceeds are intended to go to charities that support environmental and animal welfare. Stars such as Duchess Meghan (42), Ed Sheeran (32) and Ben Affleck (51) are among the luxury brand's customers.
Leonardo DiCaprio has previously invested in vegan food brands such as Beyond Meat, Califia Farms and Hippeas.
