2026 is the year of the Fire Horse in the Chinese and Japanese zodiac - a dynamic year. In Western astrology and numerology, 2026 is also often considered a year of new beginnings. And if you look at German celebrities, this proves true: a striking number of stars are in moving fever and opting for new homes. However, things don't always go smoothly.

Lena Gercke and Dustin Schöne

Lena Gercke (38) moved within Berlin in mid-June. The model and partner Dustin Schöne had their new property renovated for themselves and their two young daughters for a long time. There were already many hurdles to overcome, for example, just before Christmas, workers accidentally drilled through the underfloor heating and a bathroom was flooded. The move then became another challenge for the family. Apart from the packing stress, temperatures of over 30 degrees made the work more difficult, and then water damage was added to the mix. During storm-like thunderstorms in the capital, the basement rooms, where many boxes and crates were stored, were flooded. As Gercke recounted in an Instagram story, we first had to clear out, move away, and rearrange the entire basement. The water probably came from a pipe. However, Gercke couldn't take care of it right away: shortly after, one of her daughters had an accident, which meant a trip to the hospital and the child got a cast on her arm.

Sarah and Julian Engels

Singer Sarah Engels (33) and her husband Julian Engels (33) have also completed months of renovation work with some ups and downs (such as a surprising second electricity meter) and were finally able to move into their new house in Cologne this year. That was Sarah Engels' biggest wish for 2026, as she revealed via Instagram: "That we finally move into our new house and create real moments there, together, lively, full of memories. In addition to preparations for her Eurovision appearance in May in Vienna, the singer managed the move with her family and a huge garden project. Just in time before summer, the new infinity pool was finished, where the mother of two recovered after the Eurovision stress: I was so looking forward to the day when I could enjoy this."

Lilli Hollunder and René Adler

In April, actress Lilli Hollunder (40) and former professional soccer player René Adler (41) also moved into their new house in Hamburg. After the extensive remodeling already cost some nerves, as it progressed more slowly than expected and additional necessary work arose during the construction measures, the move also turned out to be challenging. Because at that time, far from everything was finished. The "Notruf Hafenkante" actress is happy, however, that the television could quickly be mounted in the kitchen - this had been a long-held dream of hers.

Jenny Elvers

For actress Jenny Elvers (54), 2026 also means a fresh start. She is beginning a new chapter in life with an apartment in Hamburg's Hafencity. Since son Paul (25) moved out long ago, she no longer needs the large living space in the Lüneburg Heath. Instead, she now looks forward to living in the big city again. That's where life is buzzing.

Janni Hönscheid and Peer Kusmagk

The reality TV couple Janni Hönscheid (35) and Peer Kusmagk (51) have already had numerous residences. In January, they traveled with their three children to the Canary Islands, where they now want to settle after selling their farm in Denmark. The family currently rents an 80-square-meter house on La Gomera, but is looking for another residence. In June, the former professional surfer revealed in an Instagram story: We liked Lanzarote, but we had some things that made us uncertain and have moved away from it a bit again. In Fuerteventura, it was difficult with housing. Peer liked Tenerife, especially the north, cities and infrastructure, but of course it's a bit cooler and cloudier. She herself currently liked the Western Islands, because they are more original, not so crowded, everything grows and water from springs and rivers, beautifully green! It's also very alternative in terms of the people there.

Lola Weippert

Lola Weippert (30) is also now heading to Spain. The host revealed in mid-June that she cancelled her apartment in Berlin on short notice and is putting her long-cherished dream of a life in Ibiza into action. In three months I want (and must) have found something in Ibiza, I'm just going through with it now, because you only live once! Already on June 23, she was able to report success in this regard: I rented an apartment in Ibiza today. In addition, she continues to remodel her farm "Lolaland".
