The proceedings against Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht (34) will allegedly continue on October 1 in the jury courtroom of the Regional Court of Innsbruck, according to "Bild" newspaper. The fact that the 34-year-old will have to answer to the court again has been confirmed since early July.
At that time, the Higher Regional Court of Innsbruck decided according to a statement: A criminal case regarding an unpaid hotel bill, which had come to a preliminary end in 2025, will be continued.
What the case is about
The son of Natascha Ochsenknecht (61) and Uwe Ochsenknecht (70) had been accused of committing serious fraud in December 2021 at a hotel in Kirchberg and using hotel services worth just under 14,000 euros but not paying for them.
After Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht was initially arrested at Hamburg Airport in June of last year, he was extradited to Austria. He was allowed to leave pretrial detention after paying bail of 15,000 euros. He had been incarcerated for a total of about three weeks before that. He was also not allowed to leave the country until the proceedings were concluded. In August 2025, it was finally determined that Ochsenknecht would have to pay 18,000 euros, which he accepted after consulting with his attorney.
No acceptance of responsibility?
On August 22, the Regional Court of Innsbruck had resolved the criminal proceedings through diversion, as stated in the Higher Regional Court's announcement. However, the responsible public prosecutor's office filed an appeal against the decision, and the Higher Regional Court upheld it.
It was decided that the defendant's statement and the compensation paid were not sufficient to derive from them an acceptance of responsibility based on awareness of wrongdoing. Since this is a prerequisite for dismissing criminal proceedings through diversion, the proceedings must be continued at the Regional Court of Innsbruck.
An intense experience
Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht spoke about his experiences behind bars in June on his mother Natascha Ochsenknecht's podcast Wondermom. He wouldn't want to go through it again, but nevertheless: I really have to say - prison really sucks and I messed up too - but I simply had my peace there.
For nearly a month, he was able to - albeit by force - retreat and just be by himself. It was definitely an intense experience, and I like intense experiences, Ochsenknecht summed up. It was good for my reflection. That had to happen somewhere, I think.
Why the arrest at Hamburg Airport in June 2025 happened at all from his perspective, he explained as follows: Those were ego things in my head - and I'm working on that, the Wilde Kerle actor explained. Today he meticulously makes sure to put everything in writing, even if only in one line. He had already been working intensively on himself before his time in prison. I like stepping out of my comfort zone. When I feel too comfortable, I feel uncomfortable, he said. I work best under pressure. I always want to go one step further.
