Isabel Varell (64) and Pit Weyrich (77) have been a couple for many years - but joint appearances or photos remain rare. The singer and actress has now explained why in an interview with the magazine "Gala": "Pit doesn't like being photographed, which is why there aren't many photos of us. We've kept it that way from the beginning because we had already been through a lot with our first marriages and the headlines."
Isabel Varell and Pit Weyrich have been a couple since 2008 and married since 2015. Before that, she had tied the knot with singer Drafi Deutscher (1946-2006). However, the marriage between the two music stars only lasted from 1989 to 1991. TV host and director Pit Weyrich was previously married to actress Simone Brahmann (65).
"He is very reclusive, that's his nature"
Isabel Varell now told "Gala" about her second marriage: "We keep our private life to ourselves. We live in two different apartments, it's a great concept that many people envy me for. We are each other's life partners." The 64-year-old also revealed that her husband leads a different life than she does: "He is very reclusive, that's his nature. He now flees from the crowd, I run into the crowd." She further explained about their relationship: "But we have our common ground, we like to cook and eat together, go to the movies. We have our rituals, and that's very nice."
Not having children was a "conscious decision", according to Isabel Varell. "I didn't want to live the life that my mother lived. I would have liked to grow up with my real father, but he was my mother's enemy. In my next life I'll have four children then", the artist, who is now taking on the role of Señorita Miranda at the Karl May Festival in Bad Segeberg, added with a laugh.
