Just a few weeks after the seventh season of "LOL: Last One Laughing", the next laugh challenge is already in the starting blocks with "LOL Next". This time, ten comedians, entertainers, and content creators are competing, who reach an audience of millions primarily on the internet.
The proven principle remains unchanged: More than 40 cameras observe the participants as they try to make their competition laugh without cracking a smile themselves.
From selfiesandra to Phil Laude
Among the participants is Sandra Safiulov, better known as selfiesandra. The influencer has been known to a broader television audience at least since her participation in the RTL show "Let's Dance", where she placed fourth in 2025. Phil Laude first made a name for himself as a member of the YouTube trio Y-Titty and is today the lead actor and co-developer of the comedy series "Almania". TikTok star and actor Helge Mark was already seen on "Die Verräter".
Aditotoro, Maria Ziffy, and Paul Luca Fischer alias paulomuc reach a large audience primarily with humorous videos on social media. Alina Bock became known as a member of the pop band beFour and is now successful as a comedian and actress. Freshtorge made a name for himself with comedy characters and sketches, Marti Fischer as a musician, voice imitator, and web video producer. Laura Larsson became known among other things through the former hit podcast "Herrengedeck".
One laugh is enough to be eliminated
On the show, the ten participants are allowed to exhaust their entire comedic potential. Stand-up, improvisation, quirky performances, and full physical commitment are explicitly encouraged according to the press release - as long as the competition laughs about it. Unlike the original, however, a stricter rule applies this time: Anyone who laughs even once within the four hours is eliminated.
Hazel Brugger hosts the spin-off. The comedian, who has already been seen several times in the original format, takes over the moderation from the control room. From there, she observes every movement of the candidates and tries to provoke them with little mean tricks.
The format follows the competition in four episodes. In the end, as with the original, there is a prize money of 50,000 euros at stake, which will be donated to a good cause.
"LOL Next" can be seen on Prime Video. The streaming service did not initially provide a specific launch date in its announcement.
