Haftbefehl (40) has spoken out once again shortly after announcing a break. Apparently to nip any speculation in the bud, he writes on social media that he bears the responsibility, that there is no one to blame, and also "no hidden messages".
Aykut Anhan, his legal name, had announced in a post on Instagram on Sunday evening that he needs to take a break for health reasons. On Monday, however, Haftbefehl posted another story on the same social media platform. "Before anything is misunderstood here: I'm not blaming anyone for my current situation, neither the documentary nor other people. I bear the responsibility for this myself", his statement reads.
For the rapper, it's about taking the time he needs "to regain my strength. There is no one to blame and no hidden messages, only the responsibility for my own path."
Major stir following Haftbefehl documentary
The Netflix documentary "Babo - Die Haftbefehl-Story" about Anhan, released in fall 2025, caused quite a stir last year. He had been a star in the rap scene for years, but the documentary and the associated media coverage had apparently made him known to an even broader audience. In his post published on Sunday, he hinted that the turmoil of recent months was likely a major burden.
"My dear people, many of you have seen the documentary and know that I have been struggling with health and personal challenges for quite some time", the rapper wrote. He is currently neither emotionally nor physically in a condition to perform. "The time after the documentary, the great attention, and all the hype have put additional strain on me. That's why I now need peace and time to focus on my health and regain my strength."
Haftbefehl had previously canceled a performance at the Heroes Festival in Geiselwind on short notice, with Ski Aggu (28) spontaneously stepping in. He also missed the World Club Dome in Frankfurt in early June. It is currently unclear how long the break will last.
