Fans around the world are eagerly awaiting the release of "GTA 6". Rockstar Games and streaming service Netflix have now announced a special collaboration. On August 27 at 9 p.m. German time, "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look" will be released on Netflix. As the title suggests, this will presumably be an in-depth look at the upcoming game.
Unusual Move
Across the internet, there is speculation that the special presentation could contain gameplay details - as well as other new information about the upcoming installment of the successful series. However, this has not yet been officially confirmed. The German title of the presentation is: "Grand Theft Auto VI: Ein ausführlicher Blick".
On Netflix, the program will be available exclusively for six hours. Only after that will the usual marketing route be taken. Then "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look" will move to developer studio Rockstar Games' official YouTube channel as well as the game's website, the publisher announces.
"GTA 6" Presentation Gets Event Status
It's likely that some "GTA 6" fans may sign up for a Netflix subscription to be able to stream the program. Either way, Rockstar Games and Netflix are giving the release event status through their collaboration.
Netflix is already offering a countdown on a company website until the release of the "GTA 6" preview. "This collaboration represents the next generation of storytelling and content on Netflix", the service also explains there. "It reflects what we hope for Netflix: a place where the most ambitious stories - regardless of medium - can reach the largest possible audience."
Release Date and Price
"GTA 6" will be released on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The price for the base version of the game, which is expected to break sales records again, is 79.99 euros in Germany. The game has been available for pre-order since the night of June 25. In addition to the base version, an "Ultimate Edition" will also be released.
According to the publisher, the "Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition" includes a collection of additional premium vehicles, weapons, and clothing for main characters Jason and Lucia. The "Ultimate Edition" costs 99.99 euros in Germany. In the US, the standard version is priced at around 80 dollars, while the more expensive variant costs just under 100 dollars.
Physical Box Version Also Without Disc
Gamers who initially purchase the standard version of the game will be able to buy the "Ultimate Edition" content separately later. Pre-order customers will receive the "Vintage Vice City Pack" as a bonus. It also contains in-game items such as a limousine, outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, as well as a weapon skin. Those who purchase "Grand Theft Auto VI" digitally before November 20 or pre-order a physical version of the game will receive the pack. Players who pre-order in the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store will additionally receive one free month of GTA+.
However, there will be no classic disc version. The retail boxes do not contain any physical media, as Rockstar announces. The packages only contain codes that can be redeemed to download the game. This version will be offered starting November 12, so gamers can download the game before the official release on November 19. For all versions: "GTA 6" can be downloaded starting November 12 and will then be unlocked for play on November 19.
