For weeks, doctors were left in the dark, but now there is finally a diagnosis: The three-year-old daughter of Anna Heiser (36) and her husband Gerald (41) has received a diagnosis. The former "Bauer sucht Frau" contestant announced this in an emotional Instagram reel. However, the influencer is keeping the exact illness diagnosed in little Alina to herself.
"It's amazing how many thoughts you have in situations like these", she shared with her post on Sunday. "At least we have a diagnosis. Now targeted therapy can begin. Our daughter still needs to be examined further, but it feels good to at least know a cause."
Challenging Days
Anna Heiser makes it clear in the clip, without makeup, just how much the limbo at the Polish hospital took its toll on the couple. Most recently, the medical professionals had suspected an immune system disorder. The parents took turns caring for their daughter at the clinic and their son at home. In this rhythm, there was practically nothing left for the marriage. "We stopped talking to each other, for six days", Anna Heiser described in the video.
The handoffs of the children went like an airlock: "One door, disinfection room, another door. Exchange children, a brief glance, a fleeting kiss. Then everyone moves on."
"You don't know the enemy"
The mother of two had already described on Instagram on July 16 how exhausting the previous weeks had been. Accompanying a carefree beach photo with Alina, she wrote sentences at the time that make the parents' helplessness tangible: "It's hard to fight against something that has no name. You see that your child isn't doing well. You see the symptoms. But you don't know the enemy."
The invisible opponent has been occupying the family for months. "The first time you think: It's probably just a coincidence. The second time you hope that the first treatment just wasn't enough yet. The third time you know: There must be a cause. So the examinations begin", she described the path to the clinics.
Feelings of Guilt Toward Her Son
Added to this was the pressure that a hospital stay means for siblings. While she held her daughter in her arms, Anna Heiser was plagued by feelings of guilt toward five-year-old Leon. The same thought kept hammering in her head, "that you're neglecting your second child at home right now". The setting also got to her: blue lights outside the window, beeping monitors, the crying of other children in the hallway. "With each hour, the hospital room seems to get smaller", she confessed. In the end, only one wish remained: "That your child gets healthy again."
The Start of Life Was Already Difficult
Anna and her husband Gerald Heiser met in 2017 on the RTL show "Bauer sucht Frau", and married a year later. In 2021, their son Leon was born, and in November 2022, daughter Alina arrived - five weeks early. Her mother later described the birth as an emotional roller coaster. In early 2025, the couple announced they were giving up the farm in Namibia where they lived. The family moved to Anna Heiser's homeland of Poland.
