Actor Martin Semmelrogge (70) is known for never mincing his words. The star from the world-famous war drama "Das Boot" has now proven this once again regarding his third marriage. Speaking to the "Bild" newspaper, Semmelrogge confirmed that his marriage to Regine Prause has failed. "Yes, that's it. Final whistle! Done!", said the actor. And further: "I often only play the villain. Now I have to be consistent for once. Third marriage: game over."

However, the decision was not easy, as the star explains further. In recent months, the two "somehow tried once more. But at some point you have to draw a line", because "when it becomes hurtful for both sides, then it doesn't help anymore."

They had spontaneously exchanged vows during a vacation in Florida in 2023. He raved afterwards that it was "a bond for life. Something sacred to me. Now we are a real family. It's great that I can now say: This is my wife. The crowning glory of our love." Before Regine, Semmelrogge had already been married twice. His marriage to Susanne Semmelrogge lasted from 1985 to 1991. He married his second wife Sonja Semmelrogge in 1998; 20 years later, she succumbed to a serious cancer illness.

He's thinking about "retiring at 80"

In contrast to his third marriage, Martin Semmelrogge sees his acting career as far from over. "Maybe I'll retire at 100, maybe already at 80", Semmelrogge jokes, proving that he hasn't lost his sense of humor. The 70-year-old would then have at least ten more years ahead of him. In the spring of this year, he appeared in the reality format "The 50". And as recently as May, he had a guest role in the TV series "In aller Freundschaft".
