For a long time, Sarah Connor (46) has not publicly commented on Marc Terenzi (48). In the new ProSieben documentary "Born Famous - Fluch oder Segen?" (starting July 16 on ProSieben), the singer is now breaking this silence - and chooses drastic words for her ex-husband: "Summer's biological father is a painful wound for all of us." The trigger is the reckoning by her daughter Summer Terenzi (20), who has been publicly accusing the absent father for days.
"He doesn't reach out"
In everyday family life, as Connor describes it, Terenzi has played no role for years. "The children rarely hear from their biological father. We've been carrying this for years. Never really talked about it. He was never there", she says according to "Bild" newspaper in the reality documentary. The American never showed up at parent-teacher meetings or on the birthdays of son Tyler (22) and daughter Summer, and never asked about report cards either. "It's still difficult to talk about today. He tells everyone he would do everything differently and better now. But no, he doesn't reach out", she reports.
Public conflict
The public conflict began when Summer released her new song "Daddy Issues". The lyrics include: "My father never wanted children. He's always been a narcissist." Marc Terenzi then addressed her on Instagram on his daughter's 20th birthday, congratulated her and announced he would also process his feelings in a song - a kind of musical apology titled "Sorry might not ever be enough".
Summer immediately and clearly rejected the offer. "As always, you're exploiting the situation to show what a pitiful father you are", she wrote in her story. She doesn't accept his addiction as an excuse, as he's been sober for a year and still doesn't show up: "For 17 years I've been giving you chances to be this father!"
Sarah Connor and Marc Terenzi were married from 2004 to 2010. Afterwards, the musician married Florian Fischer (51), with whom she also has two children together. Terenzi also has two more children from later relationships.
