Brad Pitt (62) has achieved a partial victory in his legal dispute with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie (51) over the French winery Château Miraval. According to a court document dated June 17, which is available to the US magazine "People", the California Superior Court granted a motion by Pitt's attorneys. Accordingly, representatives of the Stoli Group must now testify under oath.
Manager Forced to Testify
Pitt had argued that investors of the spirits and wine corporation had firsthand knowledge of Jolie's sale. The actress had apparently sold her share of the joint winery in 2021 to Tenute del Mondo, the wine division of the Stoli Group, without Pitt's knowledge. Back in June 2025, Pitt had attempted to compel Stoli manager Alexey Oliynik to testify.
However, Oliynik allegedly refused to produce relevant documents or appear for questioning. His reasoning: As a resident of Switzerland, he could not be forced to do so.
But according to the report, this argument has now been rejected by the court. According to the documents filed in June, the depositions of Oliynik and the most knowledgeable persons must take place by September 30.
Dispute Has Been Smoldering for Over Four Years
The two Oscar-winning actors, who have six children together, have been engaged in their legal battle since February 2022. At that time, Pitt stated in his lawsuit that Jolie had unlawfully sold her share of Château Miraval, since it had previously been agreed that neither of them would sell their share without the consent of the other.
Jolie responded in September 2022 with a countersuit, accusing her ex-husband of waging a vindictive war against her since she filed for divorce in 2016.
