DFB professional David Raum (28) is letting national team coach Julian Nagelsmann (38) decide what their possible partner tattoo will look like. At a press conference in the German national team's World Cup quarters in Winston-Salem, the player was asked about his coach's statements in the World Cup nomination video. In it, the 38-year-old explains that what scares him most is "our joint tattoo if we win the World Cup". He added: "But not because I'm afraid of getting the tattoo, but because I think we won't find any space left on you."

David Raum: "He Can Choose"

Raum now revealed at the press conference that when he saw the nomination video, he thought to himself: "He's really set himself a task there." And apparently alluded to the media interest in the bet. "I've already been bombarded with so many tattoo questions that I can't really stand hearing about it anymore", he said and added: "But now the topic has come up again and I'm really open to anything at the end of the day. He can choose. I think it's his first one, he'll definitely be more nervous than me, maybe I'll have to hold his hand, but we'll manage that."

The player added: "Regarding the location and what it will be, I'm pretty open, we'll come up with something."

This seems to confirm that the two really want to follow through with their tattoo plan if they win the World Cup. But first, the tournament kicks off in Mexico, Canada and the USA. Today, Thursday, the World Cup opening match between Mexico and South Africa takes place, it will be broadcast on ZDF at 9 p.m. German time. MagentaTV is also showing all matches. On Sunday (Das Erste, 7 p.m.), the DFB team will then start the tournament in Houston. Their opponent is Curaçao.
