Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht (34) must face court again. This has been decided by the Higher Regional Court of Innsbruck. A criminal proceeding regarding an unpaid hotel bill, which had reached a preliminary conclusion in 2025, is to be continued, as the Higher Regional Court announces.

What happened?

The son of Natascha Ochsenknecht (61) and Uwe Ochsenknecht (70) had been accused of committing serious fraud in 2021 at a hotel in Kirchberg and using hotel services worth just under 14,000 euros without paying for them. After Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht was initially arrested in Hamburg last year, he was extradited to Austria. He was allowed to leave pre-trial detention after paying bail of 15,000 euros. However, he was not allowed to leave the country until the conclusion of the proceedings. In August 2025, it was finally determined that Ochsenknecht would have to pay 18,000 euros, which he accepted after consultation with his attorney.

No acceptance of responsibility based on awareness of wrongdoing?

On August 22, the Regional Court of Innsbruck "resolved the criminal proceedings through diversion," as stated in a current announcement by the Higher Regional Court. However, the responsible prosecutor's office filed an appeal against the decision, and the Higher Regional Court has now granted it. It was decided "that the defendant's statement and the compensation paid are not sufficient to derive from them an acceptance of responsibility based on awareness of wrongdoing." Since this is a prerequisite for the dismissal of criminal proceedings through diversion, the proceedings at the Regional Court of Innsbruck must be continued.

This means that Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht will definitely have to appear in court again, as no further legal remedies can be filed against the current decision, according to the announcement. When the trial will continue is currently not known. There is currently no initial trial date yet.
