Irish acting star Colin Farrell (50) had prominent support from his own family at his latest appearance. The Oscar-nominated actor appeared on Wednesday evening at the premiere of the second season of his Apple TV series "John Sugar" - accompanied by his older sister Claudine Farrell. The series launch was celebrated at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles.

Colin Farrell, who celebrated his 50th birthday at the end of May, appeared in an elegant gray suit, which he combined with a white shirt and gray tie. His sister opted for an understated look with a black blazer and a high-necked, black-and-white patterned top.

Numerous colleagues from the ensemble also didn't miss the evening. Among the guests were Tony Dalton, Jin Ha, Raymond Lee, Laura Donnelly, Sasha Calle, and Shea Whigham. They all belong to the cast of the new season, which continues the mystery surrounding private detective John Sugar. Farrell portrays the title character, an investigator with a pronounced passion for cinema.

What season two is about

In terms of content, the Los Angeles-based detective returns for a new missing persons case: Sugar is supposed to track down the older brother of an up-and-coming boxer. At the same time, he continues searching for his own missing sister, who is very close to his heart.

What begins as a single case expands, according to the description, into a citywide conspiracy with sinister intentions. Sugar must also come to terms with himself and answer the question of how far he is willing to go to do the right thing. The first season had already caused a stir with a surprising twist.

Fans don't have to wait much longer: The second season of "John Sugar" starts on Friday, June 19th, with the first episode. The remaining seven episodes will then be released weekly - the last one on Friday, August 7th. In total, the new season comprises eight episodes.
