US singer Chris Brown (37) has pleaded guilty in connection with an incident at a London nightclub in 2023. The musician pleaded guilty, according to media reports, at Southwark Crown Court to affray - a criminal offense under British law that describes involvement in a violent altercation or a threat to public peace.
The court hearing reportedly lasted less than five minutes. Brown's co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu (40), a rapper who performs under the name Hoody Baby, also entered a guilty plea.
More serious charges dropped
Originally, Brown and Akinlolu also faced charges of assault and grievous bodily harm. Both had rejected these allegations. The corresponding charges have now been dropped.
Another charge against Chris Brown was also not pursued: The singer had previously been charged with possession of a dangerous weapon or prohibited item.
Sentence expected in October
