Charlize Theron (50) celebrated the premiere of "Die Odyssee" in New York City together with her two daughters. The actress was photographed on her way to the event guiding her younger daughter August (12) through the crowd, while daughter Jackson (14) followed behind them. However, the two did not step onto the red carpet. For the occasion, they had nevertheless dressed up: August wore a strapless black dress, paired with knee-high white socks and sturdy boots. Her older sister Jackson opted for a black off-the-shoulder dress.

Theron herself appeared in a white mini dress with a plunging neckline and long sleeves. A large bow at the hip added an elegant accent. She paired it with strappy sandals and a gold choker. Red lipstick completed the glamorous look.

Adoption was always her wish

The Oscar winner rarely appears with her children, whom she adopted in 2012 and 2015. Even on social media, she only shares photos together on special occasions - most recently on Mother's Day. In a message accompanying the pictures, she explained that being the mother of her daughters is "the greatest honor of my life".

In an interview with "People" magazine, Theron spoke openly about the adoption in 2018. For her, it was clear from the beginning that she would start her family this way. Her childhood in South Africa, where she came into contact with orphanages and children in need, shaped this decision. "Even when I was in a relationship, I always told my partners openly that my family would one day come about through adoption", she said. "That was definitely not a second option for me. It was always my first."
