It's the first cautiously good news in weeks: Bonnie Tyler (75) is no longer in an induced coma. As the management of the British rock legend ("Total Eclipse of the Heart") told "Bild", the singer's condition has recently improved slightly. However, her fans cannot breathe a complete sigh of relief just yet.

Tyler remains in a serious condition. She is being treated in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Faro, Portugal. "Bonnie is no longer in a coma, but she is still seriously ill", the management's statement said. "Although her condition is improving, the recovery process is only progressing slowly."

Doctors remain optimistic

The treating physicians are nevertheless looking ahead optimistically. "Her doctors remain confident that she will make a good recovery, but this will take time", the statement continued. The dramatic situation was triggered by a procedure in May: Tyler had to undergo emergency surgery at the time. Complications occurred during the procedure, following which doctors placed her in an induced coma, as the singer's management confirmed at the time.

Summer performances canceled

The health problems are having consequences for the 75-year-old's schedule. Management is forced to cancel all remaining summer performances or - where possible - postpone them to next year. All concerts through the end of August are affected, the "Bild" newspaper reports today.

However, fans don't have to accept the bitter news without any hope. The team expects that the rock powerhouse will be able to return to the stage in the fall. "We currently believe that the fall concerts will be able to take place as planned", according to the statement.

Thanks for worldwide sympathy

In their statement, the family and management expressly apologize to fans and organizers for the short-notice changes and ask for understanding and patience in this difficult situation. At the same time, the team expresses gratitude for the support from around the globe.

"We would like to thank everyone for the enormous sympathy and support from all over the world", management said in conclusion. Bonnie Tyler is aware of the numerous well-wishes from her fans - and is very grateful for them.
