Benedict Cumberbatch (49) celebrated the world premiere of his documentary film "How to Live on Earth" in London on Monday evening and was delighted to have charming company. The British actor arrived arm in arm with his wife Sophie Hunter (48) at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square.

Fitting the evening's environmental theme, Cumberbatch wore an olive green suit in earth tones over a white button-down shirt, which he paired with distinctive thick-framed glasses and leather slippers. His wife, who works as a theater director, chose a black mini dress with black ribbons reaching to the floor. The couple has been married since 2015 and has three sons together: Christopher (11), Hal (9), and Finn (7).

Premiere with Film Team

In addition to Cumberbatch, director Fredi Devas and executive producers Jonnie Hughes and Colin Butfield were also present at the world premiere. Devas also served as producer. The documentary also featured contributions from Sam Kass, Xiye Bastida, and Dan O'Neill.

The film is scheduled to be shown in select theaters starting June 26, 2026, before being released worldwide on YouTube later in the year. "How to Live on Earth" is a visionary documentary that explores humanity's deep connection with nature and its significance for the future.

Presented by Cumberbatch, the film offers inspiring stories and stunning footage from around the world, showing how humanity is learning to work together with nature, according to the official synopsis. The work is further described as heartwarming, entertaining, and motivating. It presents a hopeful vision of a tangible future - a future in which nature thrives and humanity thrives with it.

Appointment with Prince William

Before the premiere evening, Cumberbatch had another important appointment on Monday: At a wildlife conservation forum in London, he appeared together with colleague Emma Watson (36) and Prince William (44). The meeting took place as part of London Climate Action Week, which runs until June 28. The United for Wildlife initiative, which belongs to the Royal Foundation, was founded by Prince William in 2013. The organization works globally against environmental crime and the illegal wildlife trade. According to its own statements, it also advocates for those who protect animals and nature - from rangers in Africa and Scotland to indigenous communities in South America.
