Following Brooklyn Beckham's (27) public accusations against his parents, a new story by the son of David (51) and Victoria Beckham (52) on Instagram appears to be another dig. Brooklyn, who has been married to his partner Nicola (31) since April 2022, celebrated his father-in-law on his birthday. He did not attend his own father's 50th birthday celebration last year.
"Happy birthday, Nelson", Brooklyn Beckham writes in his story alongside a photo together, directed at Nelson Peltz (84). He continues to honor the billionaire and Nicola's father with the words: "I love you so much. I'm so happy I got to celebrate you today. Thank you for being the best father-in-law."
What happened with the Beckhams?
According to numerous media reports, the wedding of Brooklyn and Nicola is considered one of the triggers for a years-long simmering dispute between Brooklyn Beckham and his family. In January 2026, he publicly called out his parents. Also in his Instagram stories, the couple's eldest son made serious accusations against Victoria and David Beckham. Among other things, he claimed that they deliberately tried to destroy his relationship with his wife over a long period of time.
Brooklyn Beckham had "remained silent for years and did everything to keep these matters private", he wrote at the time. Unfortunately, his parents continued to go to the press, and therefore he had no choice but to speak out himself. He made it unmistakably clear: "I don't want to reconcile with my family. I won't be controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life."
Even before this, there had been speculation about an allegedly tense relationship between Brooklyn Beckham and his wife and his parents. There was particularly widespread speculation surrounding David Beckham's 50th birthday in early May 2025. Neither Brooklyn nor Nicola were spotted at the celebration.
