Actress Annika Ernst (47) is attracting attention with a personal clarification. The actress, known from the successful ZDF series "Der Bergdoktor", reveals that her actual age has been incorrectly stated for years. "I am 47 - and not 44, as it says everywhere", she says in an interview with "Superillu".

According to her account, the origin of the error goes back 17 years. During her participation in a casting show in 2009, she was older than many of the other contestants. That's why they said at the time: "We'll just make you three years younger." What was initially a pragmatic decision became widespread misinformation over time. "Somehow it took on a life of its own, and I missed the moment to correct it", Ernst explains.

"At 47 years old, I feel better than ever"

The actress also made it clear on May 13 on Instagram that she is open about her age today. She wrote there: "At 47 years old, I feel better than ever ... because I've thrown all the things that don't give me anything out of my life." With the hashtags "#47rocks" and "#dowhatyouwant", she emphasized her positive attitude toward aging. In the meantime, her Wikipedia entry has also been updated with reference to her agency: The year of birth is now listed as 1979 instead of 1982.

With her openness, Ernst also wants to take a stand against the widespread pressure to be young in the acting industry. "The youth obsession in my industry is unfortunately very pronounced, and I no longer want to participate in that. Because every age has its justification and its beauty", she emphasizes.

Surgeon on "Der Bergdoktor"

The actress, who has played the surgeon Dr. Johanna Angelika Rüdiger on "Der Bergdoktor" since 2021, describes herself today as much more relaxed when it comes to her body and her health. While she used to try diets regularly and, from her perspective, jogged almost compulsively, she has now discovered her passion for strength training. When it comes to food, she also focuses on balance instead of deprivation: She eats consciously 70 to 80 percent of the time, but also leaves room for small indulgences.
